Board of Pharmacy Specialties Announces Plans for New Role Delineation Studies

Sterile Compounding, Solid Organ Transplantation and Emergency Medicine are Identified

Washington, D.C., June 16, 2015 – The Board of Pharmacy Specialties (BPS) has approved role delineation studies in Sterile Compounding, Solid Organ Transplantation and Emergency Medicine. These role delineation studies will take place over the next 12-24 months and will not be conducted concurrently.

Board of Pharmacy Specialties Issues Call for Petition in Cardiology and Infectious Diseases

Washington, D.C. – The Board of Pharmacy Specialties (BPS) has voted to issue a call for petition in both Cardiology and Infectious Diseases. As part of this deliberation, the BPS Board of Directors reviewed the role delineation studies conducted in these two pharmacy practice areas and found the results supportive of further consideration of Cardiology and Infectious Diseases as pharmacy specialties.
