Washington, DC – BPS Board-Certified pharmacists who are advancing practice in their communities, improving patient care, and educating the next generation of pharmacists are encouraged to apply now to serve as BPS Ambassadors for the 2022 – 2024 term.
BPS Ambassadors work to highlight the value of BPS Board Certification through a variety of activities and communications channels. This is the second year of the program; the first three BPS Ambassadors were featured in a video series hosted on the BPS website and shared across BPS social media platforms.
Completed applications for this year’s cohort of ambassadors should be submitted electronically using this link. Applications will be accepted through Friday, June 17, 2022.
BPS will select up to five pharmacist specialists with excellent storytelling skills to highlight the value of BPS Board Certification and the impact it has on their career, whether through improvements in patient care, interprofessional teams, employer perception, professional development, or career advancement. BPS recognizes the diversity of the pharmacy profession and wishes to represent these narratives.
Pharmacy specialists interested in contributing their unique perspectives on the value of BPS Board Certification are strongly encouraged to apply. A BPS selection committee will review applicants based on background, practice experience, commitment to BPS Board Certification, storytelling ability, and interest level to participate in a range of activities.
Those selected will be provided with media and communications training to develop and sharpen their storytelling skills. Selected Ambassadors will be featured in a video series accessible on the BPS website and social media platforms and will be invited to present during a live event (date and location TBD). Other opportunities to represent BPS through social media campaigns, conference panel discussions, and other activities may arise.
About the Board of Pharmacy Specialties
The Board of Pharmacy Specialties (BPS) was established in 1976 as an autonomous division of the American Pharmacists Association (APhA). The mission of BPS is to improve patient care by positioning BPS Board-Certified Pharmacist Specialists as integral members of interprofessional healthcare teams, through recognition and promotion of specialized training, knowledge, and skills for pharmacists in the United States and internationally. Board certification is a recognized credential for determining which pharmacists are qualified to contribute at advanced practice levels given the rigorous standards mandated by BPS board certification and recertification. BPS currently recognizes more than 54,400 active pharmacist certifications across 14 specialties.
