Washington, DC – The Board of Pharmacy Specialties (BPS) announces that Timothy J. Muckle, Ph.D. will be joining the BPS staff as Senior Psychometrician effective October 30, 2017. Dr. Muckle earned his Ph.D. in Educational Psychology from the University of Illinois at Chicago, IL and has 17 years of psychometric experience; from 2008 he served as the Senior Director of Testing and Research for the National Board of Certification and Recertification for Nurse Anesthetists. Dr. Muckle’s work there involved managing test development and psychometric quality of a several credentialing examinations, the development of innovative item types, technical reporting and documentation, spearheading an exam-related research agenda, and the proposal of specifications for a new recertification assessment.

From 2004 to 2008 Dr. Muckle served as a psychometrician with Pearson Vue where his clients included the Council on Certification of Nurse Anesthetists (CCNA), National Council of State Boards of Nursing (NCSBN), National Registry of Emergency Medical Technicians (NREMT), United Kingdom Clinical Aptitude Test Consortium (UKCAT), American Board of Podiatric Surgeons (ABPS), and the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS).

Siddiq Kassam, MS will join the BPS staff in the position of Test Developer. Kassam was formerly an Associate Psychometrician at PSI Services LLC. In that role he facilitated and managed job analyses, exam development, subject-matter expert meetings, market research and body of knowledge studies. He received his MS in Industrial/Organizational Psychology from the University of Baltimore. He has experience working with a variety of certification clients in the technology, health care and construction industries and will begin working with BPS on November 6, 2017.
