Washington, DC – The Board of Pharmacy Specialties® (BPS), the premiere post-licensure certification agency serving the pharmacy profession, is pleased to announce the appointment of Kevin T. Bain, PharmD, MPH, BCPS, BCGP, CPH, FASCP to its Employer Advisory Committee (EAC).
The EAC advises the BPS Board of Directors and has the following responsibilities:
- To explore the contributions of board certified pharmacists to healthcare and value to employers, medical staff, other health care professionals, and patients
- To provide strategic direction recommendations based on employer perspectives
- To inform the communication, marketing, and promotion activities on the value of BPS certification
- To identify initiatives and develop value-added tools and services to offer employers
Dr. Bain is Vice President of Medication Risk Mitigation and serves as the Director, Pharmacy Practice Residency at Tabula Rasa HealthCare in Moorestown, NJ. He was appointed Chair-Elect of the Commission for Certification in Geriatric Pharmacy (CCGP) Board of Commissioners prior to its merger with BPS.
“Dr. Bain’s appointment to the EAC will call on his extensive background in inpatient, community, and federal pharmacy as well as outcomes research, clinical support and performance improvement,” EAC Chair Beth Chester, PharmD, MPH, FCCP, BCPS.
Bain will join members of the inaugural Employer Advisory Committee who were appointed in September 2016. “We welcome Dr. Bain’s contributions to the Committee’s efforts as part of BPS’ Value of Certification Initiatives,” said BPS Director, Professional Affairs, Brian Lawson, PharmD.
