Washington, D.C. – The Board of Pharmacy Specialties (BPS) is pleased to announce that both Anjali Weber and Keith McAllister will join the staff of the Board of Pharmacy Specialties.

Anjali Weber joins BPS as the Director of Psychometric and Testing Services. Most recently Anjali served as Vice President and Strategic Officer with Exemplar Global Inc., an organization that provides various personnel certification programs for ISO quality management systems auditors and engineers and engineering technicians in various specialties. Ms. Weber was the former Director of Accreditation Services for the Institute for Credentialing Excellence (ICE) and the chief staff officer for the National Commission for Certifying Agencies (NCCA). In that role, she provided strategic direction and oversight of ICE’s multiple accreditation programs. She led the growth in the number of certification programs seeking accreditation and the process to offer ISO 17024 accreditation to NCCA accredited programs. Anjali Weber has her Master’s Degree in Biomedical Engineering, and over her 20-year career in certification, she also served as the Director of Certification for the Rehabilitation Engineering and Assistive Technology Society of North America, where she developed and managed three specialty certifications. She has a strong background in competency, quality standards for accreditation, certification and education along with experience in setting strategic direction, research, and program development.

Keith McAllister will serve as the BPS Marketing and Social Media Manager. Keith brings over 20 years of experience to this position. Most recently he worked with National Council of La Raza, the largest national Hispanic civil rights and advocacy organization in the U.S., as Coordinator of Technology Platforms. He also served as the Technology & E-Activism Manager for the Marine Fish Conservation Network which was formed in 1993 to develop a legislative platform to change the focus of the Fishery Conservation and Management Act of 1976 from promoting fishing to conserving fish populations and their habitat and ensuring the long term health and productivity of our oceans. He also served as Director of Technology for the Organization of Chinese Americans, a national organization whose stated mission is to advance the social, political, and economic well-being of Asian Pacific Americans in the United States. McAllister studied Mass Communications at VCU and also attended the Columbia College of Television and Film Production in Los Angeles.

Eleven specialties are currently recognized by BPS including: (1) nuclear pharmacy, since 1978; (2) nutrition support pharmacy, since 1988; (3) pharmacotherapy, since 1988; (4) psychiatric pharmacy, since 1992; (5) oncology pharmacy, since 1996; (6) ambulatory care pharmacy, since 2009; (7) critical care pharmacy since 2013; (8) pediatric pharmacy since 2013; (9) geriatric pharmacy in 2017 (through CCGP); (10) cardiology pharmacy in 2017; and (11) infectious diseases pharmacy in 2017. BPS certification exams are administered at over 500 locations worldwide, the Spring testing window application deadline is March 6, 2017 and the Fall 2017 registration will be held from until August 1, 2017.
