Portfolio Review Process

Certified pharmacists will be invited to submit portfolios which formally document their enhanced training and experience in the Added Qualification area for their specialty. A Portfolio Review Committee of the Specialty Council reviews all portfolios and recommends successful candidates to BPS for recognition of Added Qualifications.

Approvals

Candidates whose portfolios meet established requirements will be recognized with a new BPS Certificate as "Board Certified ________________, with Added Qualifications in _________________."

Disapprovals

Unsuccessful applicants are notified of the reasons for rejection and may provide new, additional information, upon payment of a separate fee. A rejection may be appealed within 60 days of notification.

Added Qualifications and Recertification

When BPS-certified specialists with Added Qualifications apply for recertification, they may also apply for reconfirmation of their Added Qualifications in order to retain this recognition. Separate fees are charged for recertification and reconfirmation of Added Qualifications.
