2008 Designated Sites BPS has established test sites in twenty cities for the administration of its examinations in 2008. Applicants must indicate their preferred test site in the space provided on the application form. The exact location of testing rooms is provided with the candidate’s Admission Permit. The Board reserves the right to cancel a site if there is an insufficient number of applicants at a particular location. BPS may also close a test site to candidates who wish to change locations after the application deadline (August 1), if a site is already filled. Hotel and travel recommendations are not provided by the Board. Candidates are encouraged to use either their own travel agent or an Internet search engine to locate hotel accommodations, maps, driving instructions, etc. Please note that test sites are subject to change. Examination dates are set by the Board and remain the same regardless of site location. Within the Contiguous 48 States: A group of ten or more candidates may request an alternate test site for any combination of BPS-recognized specialties (Nuclear Pharmacy, Nutrition Support Pharmacy, Oncology Pharmacy, Pharmacotherapy, Psychiatric Pharmacy). There is no additional fee. Alternate exam sites must be at least 200 miles from any of the BPS-designated test sites listed above, unless special approval has been granted by BPS. Both certification and recertification examinations can be administered at the alternate sites. Alaska, Hawaii and Foreign Countries: Groups with fewer than 10 applicants in Alaska, Hawaii and foreign countries that request an alternate site will be required to pay a proctor fee of $500. If the group cannot identify a test center that meets BPS specifications, BPS’ testing consultant will provide a site for a fee of $250. Payments must accompany the request for establishing an alternate site. All Requestors: Requests for alternate sites must be submitted in writing to BPS by July 1, and accompanied by ALL applications and fees from those requesting the site. An Alternate Test Site Request Form is available. All applicants requesting an alternate site will be advised of their eligibility to sit for the examination, as well as the site location, by August 1. BPS will not be responsible for notifying other candidates or the profession-at-large of alternate sites. Alternate testing locations will be posted after July 1, 2008. Transferring Test Sites Candidates wishing to transfer test sites must do so IN WRITING to BPS by September 1 for the October test date.
