“FAST FACTS” for CERTIFICATION

• EXAM DATE - FIRST SATURDAY IN OCTOBER.
• Application Deadline (Postmark) - August 1.
• Examination Fee - $600.
• Checks, Money Orders, Credit Cards are accepted.
• Candidate Numbers and Admission Permits - mailed to applicants two weeks prior to the exam and required for admittance.
• Exams are offered at a minimum of 20 cities across the U.S. Other sites may be set up anywhere in the world.
• Typical Exam Day - 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM.
• 200 Multiple Choice Questions make up each specialty exam.
• Results are available within approximately 60 days.
• Examination Retakes are permissible within a two-year period at reduced cost.
• Recertification is required every 7 years.
• All BPS-certified pharmacists register annually. The Annual Fee ($100) is not charged in the year the individual is due to recertify.
